Moon Jellyfish are known for the the four to five circular-shaped rings. They do not have a central nervous system, but instead they use a nerve network. This nerve network allows stimuli such as touch to function. The moon jellyfish also possess eyes or ocelli which allows them to detect light and dark. They also contain sensory lappets which control sense of touch, statocysts which control their balance, and oflaction which gives them chemical detection.

Fun factJellyfish were sent to space by NASA to test the affect of microgravity on the development from a polyp, or young jellyfish, into a grown medusa, an adult jellyfish. They also tested how the jellyfish would adapt when back on earth.
