Octopuses are one of the most complex mollusks, for they have about 500 million neurons, as opposed to the normal mollusk having about twenty thousand neurons. These extra neurons allow them to do complex tasks like opening a jar from the inside to stealing a camera. In fact, the octopus has the most complicated brain of all invertebrate (animals without a backbone). Due to the size of its brain, Octopi have good memories and can learn. An interesting fact about octopi is that they have a statocyst next to their brain, and its function detects changes in gravity and respond to acceleration- just like a fancy dive watch.
The Blue Ringed Octopus is one of the most dangerous marine animals out their due to a powerful neurotoxin they produce, and will attack if provoked. They are particularly dangerous because they are also smart, due to their advanced nervous system.
